Musicians communicate musically through sound and sense.  To me it is a fascinating ability, talent.  During my coverage of the Ski Johnson Performance for the American Cancer Society, I was able to photograph his band planning the score for the evening just before the show.  It was like listening in to a top-secret, military strategy or the planning of a heist.  Although they were writing words, they were using musical notes and sounds orally to communicate the score.

This image below is a photo I shot “off-base” and instantly became a favorite.  The mood, color, focus, location – it tells a story.  Let me know what you think…
