Allison: Sunshine Eternal

One thing we are really missing in the Washington DC area right now is WARMTH! Before this year, I always looked forward to snowy days – now I feel like I will freak out if I see another falling snowflake! This has been a record-breaking winter and we have received an enormous amount of snow; although, the kids, I am sure, loved every bit of it. The majority of us have grown weary from the mobile limitations snow enforces on everyday life. So I needed to focus on some bright colors to get me out of the winter blues.

Allison’s session is dedicated to the appreciation of color and warmth. Sometimes you gotta find that warmth within to revive you at times like this. The sunshine is inside. Can you feel the “Sunshine Eternal”?

Farrah: Rebel For The Helluvit

Dedicated to the first 22 seconds of T.I.’s “I’m Illy” from his latest album, Paper Trail. Yeah, I know that is really specific but if you take a listen you will see what I am saying about the way it makes you feel. Although there are several lines that I can’t say I have actually experienced. Like all music, it is the feeling that is instilled in your soul that drives you to understand and embrace the music. During Farrah’s first session, we started getting into more moody shots – shots with more emotional response. So I thought we should go with that energy and produce something that makes a point and causes some reaction. I love art; all art. I love the way it makes you think and makes you feel. Not everything is going to bright; not everything is going to be dark – But everything I shoot I hope you feel. So check out this session with Farrah and let me know if you feel like a “Rebel for the Helluvit.”

Farrah: Donovan’s House

During my creative, model session in Washington, DC, I was more than excited to work with Farrah Garcia. Farrah, cousin of my good friend, Monica Anderson, is a natural in every sense of the word – the kind of model that makes any creative session flawless. Although she is relatively new to modeling, Farrah gave me poses, styling, and makeup! Gotta love that! Farrah’s first session was pretty chill. I decided to focus more on beauty shots and move into the more conceptual shots later. Eventhough the first image below was inspired by Beyonce’s “I AM…Sasha Fierce” album, the rest of the session was motivated by the location, the Donovan House off K Street in NW Washington, DC. We decided to save the music for her second session! Check it out…

Ashley: Bold and Beautiful in Black and White

Creative sessions allow the photographer and the model to be artistically expressive. For this session, I had the pleasure of working with my wife, Ashley. When I do a creative (conceptual) session, I take my inspiration from a number of things as I said previously in another posting. For this one, I saw Ashley first and then decided how to persue the session. Ashley has a natural beauty – classy and timeless; she also has this undeniable presence of strength. Her stance is always so confident and her eyes can shoot right to you. So I knew I wanted to do something powerful and “black and white” was definitely the way to go. So I pumped up Beyonce’s, Sweet Dreams and went to work! Check me out…
